We started with record clearing through Expungement.ai. Today, LegalEase is building tools for the legal moments people face every day: clearing eligible records, understanding background-check issues, organizing simple claims, starting uncontested divorce, and helping community organizations serve more people.

Our story

LegalEase began with a simple truth: sometimes the law creates a path forward, but the process still keeps people stuck.

For Lawrence Blackmon, that truth was personal. Before becoming an attorney, state legislator, and LegalEase co-founder, Lawrence had a dismissed case still sitting on his public record. He had to pay thousands of dollars to clear something that should not have kept standing in his way. The homepage founder section frames this as the origin point for LegalEase’s mission.

For Roger Roman, the problem was bigger than one case. It was a national access-to-justice gap hiding in plain sight: people facing legal tasks that are too expensive for traditional services and too confusing to handle alone.
