Request, Access, or Delete Your Data
How to request access to your data, ask us to correct information, request deletion, or ask questions about how your information is handled.
At LegalEase, we understand that the information you share with us may be personal, sensitive, and important. This may include contact information, intake answers, uploaded documents, court or case information, payment records, account activity, and other information connected to your use of LegalEase, Expungement.ai, RCAP, Wilma, or other LegalEase services.
This page explains how you can request access to your data, ask us to correct information, request deletion, or ask questions about how your information is handled.
What You Can Request
Depending on where you live and how you used LegalEase, you may be able to request that we:
- Confirm whether we have personal information about you.
- Provide a copy of personal information associated with your account or request.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete personal information, where legally and technically possible.
- Stop certain uses of your information where applicable.
- Answer questions about how your information is collected, used, stored, or shared.
Some requests may be limited by legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute-resolution, court, partner-program, or operational obligations. For example, we may need to retain certain transaction records, security logs, consent records, support history, or records needed to comply with law or protect against misuse.
How to Submit a Data Request
To submit a data request, please email:

Use the subject line:
Data Request
In your message, please include:
- Your full name.
- The email address or phone number you used with LegalEase.
- The product or program you used, if known, such as LegalEase, Expungement.ai, RCAP, RecordShield, StartApart, or Wilma.
- The type of request you are making: access, correction, deletion, opt-out, or privacy question.
- Any details that will help us locate your information.
Please do not include unnecessary sensitive information in your initial email. If we need more information to verify your identity or locate your records, we will follow up.
Identity Verification
Before we provide, correct, or delete personal information, we may need to verify your identity. This helps protect your information from unauthorized access or deletion.
Depending on the request, we may ask you to confirm information associated with your account, email address, phone number, transaction, intake, or prior communication with LegalEase.
If we cannot verify your identity, we may be unable to complete the request.
Deletion Requests
You may ask LegalEase to delete personal information associated with your account or use of our services.
When we receive a deletion request, we will review what information we have, confirm whether we can verify the request, and delete eligible information where legally and technically possible.
Some information may not be deleted immediately or may need to be retained for limited purposes, including legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, payment records, dispute resolution, internal auditing, backup systems, or other lawful business purposes.
If we cannot delete certain information, we will explain the reason when required by applicable law.
Partner Program Requests
If you used LegalEase through a partner program, such as an RCAP partner, nonprofit, clinic, workforce program, community organization, city, county, funder, or legal-aid partner, your request may involve both LegalEase and the partner organization.
LegalEase can process requests for information we control. If a partner organization separately collected or stored your information, you may also need to contact that partner directly.
Authorized Agents
Where permitted by law, you may authorize another person to submit a request on your behalf. We may require proof that the person is authorized to act for you, and we may still need to verify your identity directly.
Response Timing
We will review and respond to privacy and data requests as required by applicable law. Some requests may take additional time if they involve identity verification, archived records, partner-program data, security review, or legal retention requirements.
